What’s new in IREX 4.37

New feature

Ask IREX (MVP)

IREX 4.37 ships the first MVP of Ask IREX, an embedded investigation assistant that lets operators search events and run cross-camera queries in natural language. Ask IREX is integrated with the Sover messenger and reaches the IREX core infrastructure directly, replacing ad-hoc filter combinations with conversational requests.

Ask IREX has been moved from a standalone deployment into the IREX core infrastructure, ensuring centralized authentication, audit logging, and policy enforcement.

A platform-wide selection of the supporting Vision-Language Model (VLM) has been completed for use across natural-language investigation features.

Every conversation runs against the same role-based access controls as the rest of the platform, and searches initiated through Ask IREX are captured in the audit log, in line with IREX's "transparency by design" framework.

This MVP lays the groundwork for the broader agentic-investigation roadmap announced earlier in the year.

Audit log — self-auditing

The audit log now logs actions performed within the audit log itself. Filtering, searching, and exporting from the audit-log interface are captured as first-class events. This closes a long-standing gap in oversight workflows and supports compliance reviews that require a complete chain of custody for every investigator action.
